Martin brings out the power of this eminently practical and persuasive Gospel. Martin emphasizes how Mark’s Gospel is a story of action—as encouraging and compelling today as when it was written.

This title for Jesus was locked away in scholars’ textbooks until recently. Now, since the publication of William Blatty’s novel and the movie based on it, it is a word on many people’s lips.
