PSALM 84

Longing for the Temple Worship.

For the choir director; on the Gittith. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.

1 How lovely are Your adwelling places,

O Lord of hosts!

2 My asoul longed and even yearned for the courts of the Lord;

My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the bliving God.

3 The bird also has found a house,

And the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young,

Even Your aaltars, O Lord of hosts,

bMy King and my God.

4 How ablessed are those who dwell in Your house!

They are bever praising You.

1Selah.

5 How blessed is the man whose astrength is in You,

In 1whose heart are the bhighways to Zion!

6 Passing through the valley of 1Baca they make it a 2spring;

The aearly rain also covers it with blessings.

7 They ago from strength to strength,

1Every one of them bappears before God in Zion.

8 O aLord God of hosts, hear my prayer;

Give ear, O bGod of Jacob!

Selah.

9 Behold our ashield, O God,

And look upon the face of bYour anointed.

10 For aa day in Your courts is better than a thousand outside.

I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God

Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.

11 For the Lord God is aa sun and bshield;

The Lord gives grace and cglory;

dNo good thing does He withhold 1from those who walk 2uprightly.

12 O Lord of hosts,

How ablessed is the man who trusts in You!

About New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update

The New American Standard Bible, long considered a favorite study Bible by serious students of the Scriptures, has been completely revised and updated in this new 1995 translation. Preserving the Lockman Foundation's standard of creating a literal translation of the original Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic manuscripts, the 1995 NASB provides a literal translation that is very readable. Formalized language and outdated words and phrases have been replaced with their contemporary counterparts. In short, the 1995 NASB is a Bible translation that is very conducive to word-by-word study and is also able to be read (and understood) by the whole family.
